About Our Program

Welcome to Faces ABA Behavioral Services! We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with autism and their families through compassionate, evidence-based behavioral support. We help your child achieve age-appropriate goals, develop and strengthen skills, and grow in confidence and independence.

Our clinic provides services for children between 18 months and 13 years old, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM. Occasionally, we offer 1:1 support in homes and within the community (such as daycare and after-school programs). Please contact us to learn about in-home or community-based availability.

Faces ABA Behavioral Services (Faces) was founded in 1995 and acquired by the Pacific Autism Center for Education in 2011. Our clinic utilizes applied behavior analysis (ABA), an evidence-based methodology that uses the principles of learning and motivation to encourage positive change. ABA helps children learn by breaking big tasks into small, manageable steps, making progress feel natural and achievable. We proudly support individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and those needing additional support with behavior management, social skills, and communication.

Our services include 1:1 intensive early intervention, elementary-aged intervention, support of school and caregiver collaboration, and social development.  ABA teaching methods are used to promote independence in all significant areas, including:

  • Communication and language
  • Behavior management
  • School readiness
  • Self-care and independence
  • Peer socialization
  • Play skills

About our Team

We are a close-knit team that ensures your child has a supportive, calm, positive, and engaging learning environment. We provide your family with a collaborative team of Board Certified Behavioral Analysts (BCBA) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) dedicated to your child’s growth and success. A BCBA is always on-site in our clinic to guide and supervise your child’s session. Our staff receives up-to-date comprehensive clinical training, including Safety-Care (TM) de-escalation procedures. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality services and a high quality of life for our employees. As a department of PACE, we ensure our employees have reasonable working hours, minimal travel, reliable support in the clinic, and ongoing professional development. Our staff turnover rate is half of the national average!

Assessments and Support

At Faces ABA, assessments are conducted every 6-12 months. Your child’s goals are determined in an individualized treatment plan and/or an existing Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We combine evidence-based developmental assessments (VB-MAPP, Vineland III, AFLS, ABLLS-R), Functional Behavior Assessments, caregiver collaboration, child input, and session data to inform programming decisions. The primary goal is to maximize children’s quality of life through increased autonomy and independence. Your BCBA provides ongoing supervision to facilitate activities and routines. Individual ABA goals are developed and targeted throughout the clinic session to include independent skills, social opportunities, appropriate play skills, and management of challenging behaviors.

Our Clinic

Our clinic is located at the Sunny Days Preschool campus, 897 Broadleaf Lane, San Jose, CA 95128. Sessions are available from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM for children ages 18 months to 13 years.  The facility offers quiet spaces for 1:1 sessions, social skills practice and school readiness opportunities, a state-of-the-art Occupational Therapy gym, two playgrounds, and ample outdoor activity space.

Caregiver Collaboration

Caregiver collaboration is an integral part of your child’s growth and success. To enhance your child’s independence and quality of life, caregivers/parents must commit to a minimum of one hour per month. Most of our families have found success meeting with their BCBA for 30 minutes weekly. Your input is valuable to the team in guiding your child’s developmental progress. We will share strategies that contribute to your child’s success in sessions, and you can share strategies that contribute to success at home. Together, we can address the areas you would like support with.

About Applied Behavior Analysis

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, is an evidence-based scientific process that uses the principles of learning and motivation to encourage positive change and behavior (we refer to behavior as observable and measurable actions). ABA techniques are based on behavioral psychology and are used to bring about meaningful positive changes in behavior. Many scientific studies have confirmed that using ABA techniques with young children with autism significantly improves their cognitive abilities, communication, autonomy, independence, and adaptive living skills. ABA is a widely recognized treatment for autism and has been endorsed by the U.S. Surgeon General and is approved by the FDA. ABA principles and teaching methods are used to promote independence in all significant areas, including:

  • Communication and Language Development
  • Independent and Collaborative Play Skills
  • Trauma Informed Care and Assent-Based Therapy
  • School Readiness
  • Adaptive Living Skills
  • Social Skills
  • Regular Caregiver and Specialist Collaboration
